A poem from when I was 19. Unrequited love.
Four Pillars
Four wooden pillars
and four iron bars
keep those eyes of hers
as far as blue stars.
Though I love her
I must let her go,
thus a poor lover,
but her heart must know.
Half my world
must begin anew;
my heart was hurled
into love so true,
but too sadly blind
to wreck on a shore
of unfeeling mind,
blinding me only more.
